Infrastructure Policy Mind Map
The Government has been clear that boosting Britain’s infrastructure will form a central part of its economic strategy over the course of this Parliament. The publication of an updated National Infrastructure Plan in November 2011, the delivery of announcements on issues such as high-speed rail and broadband connectivity, and legislation such as the recently announced Growth and Infrastructure Bill, has shown how determined Ministers are to use infrastructure as a driver for job creation and growth. The Insight mind map looks at some of the headline policies which the Government has developed on key issues such as aviation, rail, energy, roads and planning, addresses some of the pressure points within the Coalition on these matters, and looks at some of the challenges which may present themselves over the coming months and years.
